The Kelowna Rockets winning streak has come to an end in the same place it started two weeks ago.
The Rockets Saturday squandered a three goal second period lead, falling 6-5 to the Tri-City Americans.
The Rockets built up a 4-1 lead just shy of the midway point of the second, but two goals late in the second and two early in the third gave the Americans a one goal lead.
Jaxon Kehrig brought the Rockets onto even terms but Max Curran’s first of the season with less than nine minutes left stood up as the winner.
Michael Cicek and Jake Gudelj exchanged first period goals before the Rockets blew the game open with the goals in a span of 3:13.
Max Graham with a pair and Andrew Cristall gave the Rockets a short-lived 4-1 lead.
Gavin Garland led the way for the Americans with a goal and three assists while Carter MacAdams chipped in with three assists.
Jari Kykkanen who blanked the Wenatchee Wild gave up all six goals on 33 shots.
The Rockets head back home to host the Victoria Royals Wednesday.
